Challenge
Four women training at my rowing club qualified their boat to represent the United States at Under-23 Lightweight World Championships. In order to get there, they had to fundraise to cover their travel costs, boat rental, coaching fees, and entry fees. To the tune of five grand per person. Not a sum the typical college kid has kicking around.
Insight
Boston is the ultimate sports town. Home to the highest paid GOATs in the game. But little did anyone know the women’s rowing GOATs were training in our own backyard – for zero dollars.
Strategy
Let’s use some old-fashioned peer pressure to see if we can get these lightweight lady GOATs funded for their trip to rowing’s biggest world stage.
